Jonathan, Nwodo meet, express concern over S’West PDP crisis
President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, to resolve the crises in the party’s chapters in the South-West.
THE PUNCH learnt that at a meeting on Sunday, the President and Nwodo expressed concern about the crises in the Oyo, Osun and Ogun chapters of the party. It was learnt that during the meeting at the Presidential Villa, Jonathan urged Nwodo, who returned to the country on Friday from a foreign trip, to meet with PDP stakeholders in the zone.
It was gathered that the President expressed concern that the Action Congress of Nigeria’s victory in Ekiti States could signal the gradual incursion of the opposition party into the South-West.
A top PDP member, who pleaded anonymity, said, ‘’The President urged the chairman to ensure that resolution of the crisis to prevent the opposition party, the Action Congress of Nigeria, from cashing in on the problems,’’
