Before he went into robbery Godwin Obande was a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida in Niger State. He was a Higher National Diploma, Engineering student who ran foul of the law of the institution, a development that led to his being rusticated from the school. He was found guilty of ‘gross examination misconduct’ during the 2006 academic year. Without anything to do, Obande moved from Bida to Abuja where he stayed with a friend from where he planned to start life afresh.
However, according to Obande one day,his friend whom he called ‘Pillow’ and some others returned home with some property and cash which they shared among themselves.
