Chief Ayacinth Duru, a 56-year-old Lagos auto dealer, was recently sighted at the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti street, Yaba, looking ruffled and traumatised,saying intermittently that “but for the police, I would have either been taken to the East or killed like a fowl.“
This was barely few hours after the police had rescued him from some people, who had kidnapped him and were asking his wife, Mrs. Edith Duru, for N5 million ransom.Narating his ordeal in the hands of his captors, Duru told Crime and Security that his two hands were tied behind his back, with ropes, while his legs were also tied and his face covered with black clothes, all in an attempt to rattle him.
