Mama beckons on Nigerian artistes

The dominance of MTV Africa Music Awards, by Nigerian artistes continues unabated with the unveiling of nominees for this year‘s edition.

In all, Nigeria has the highest number of nominations - 13 - with P-Square getting nods in the Artiste of the Year, Best Group and Best Video categories. Tuface Idibia and Wande Coal are pitted against each other in the Best Male, while they are also nominated in the Artiste of the Year and Best Anglophone respectively. Banky W also got two nominations for Song of the Year and Best Video. Perennial MAMA Winner, D’banj gets a nomination for Song of the Year for “Fall in Love.” Sasha and Nneka slug it out in the Best Female category while 20-year-old Mo‘Cheddah is proving her fans right that she‘s got talent. She is up for honour in the Best New Artiste category.
