Kwara 2011: Contenders riding on Jonathan, Saraki’s backs

As the race to succeed the incumbent Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State gets hotter, EMMANUEL ADDEH writes that all the governorship aspirants in the state are polarised into two major camps Since the whistle was officially blown for the take-off of activities towards the governorship election in Kwara State with the endorsement of Senator Gbemisola Saraki, by her father, Olusola Saraki, there have been various manoeuvrings by aspirants to the exalted seat.
The numerous contenders to the seat would seem to be calculating that since the incumbent governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, is constitutionally restricted and therefore, cannot contest for another term, it would be politically expedient to court what seems to be one of the two opposing camps in the build-up to the 2011 general elections.
