A few months to the 2011 general elections, there are different permutations at play by political
parties at the state and national levels, in order to gain the votes of the electorate. In Akwa Ibom State, the situation is different. The political atmosphere is tense, especially among the aspirants that have shown interest in the governorship poll. Apart from the incumbent governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, seven other aspirants have indicated interest in the race.
