AWC: We’ll stop Falcons – South Africa
South Africa‘s Bayana Bayana coach Augustine Makalakane has warned the Super Falcons his team are not only out to back up their good start to the ongoing African Women‘s Championship with an emphatic victory over Nigeria on Thursday but the continental bragging rights.
The two giants are scheduled to meet in a testy Group A fixture at the Sinaba Stadium, Daveyton, near Johannesburg, South Africa from 10am.
Bayana have not beaten the Falcons since 1995. Nigeria won the continental showpiece, which started in 1998, at South Africa‘s expense in 2000.
Banyana defeated Tanzania 2-1 at the same venue last Sunday to kick off their campaign on a good note, while the Falcons demolished Mali 5-0 on Monday.
