A season of flood





IT is common  to find houses in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, surrounded by stagnant water, bushes and makeshift bridges also known as 'monkey bridge'. Some residents of the town now have to leave their homes once it rains because water always overflows into their homes. Mr kayode who stays off Fak Street, said he and his family woke up one Sunday morning to discover his living room was flooded from the rain that fell at night. He said he was lucky he had nothing that could spoil on the tiled floor but that his neighbour was not so lucky as her bed was wet and some of her food items got bad due to the flood.
