Rescued banks: Adigwe, 6 others ask court to vary bail conditions
Former Managing Director of Afribank Plc, Sebastian Adigwe, alongside six others charged to court for financial impropriety by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday asked a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos to vary the bail conditions the judge granted them.
Other accused persons in the matter are the Chairman of Afribank, Osa Osunde, three board members, Isa Zailani, Chinedu Onyia, Henry Arogundade and a stockbroker Peter Ololo and his firm, Falcons Securities Limited.
The accused persons in their separate applications, prayed the court to release their international passports to enable them travel abroad for medical treatment and business transactions.
Counsel to the fifth accused person in urging the court to release his client’s international passport, argued that the prosecution has not seriously challenged the averments in his affidavit except that the Commission has said the accused was threatening their witnesses.
