Petrol station owners task NNPC on petroleum availability in South-East

the Association of Mega Filling Station Owners has called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to ensure constant availability of petroleum products in the South-East zone.

According to the association, constant supply of petroleum products is achievable if the NNPC resuscitates the oil depot in Enugu, which has not been functional for some time.

The group said though every part of the country now enjoy regular supply of petroleum products, the association stated that the revitalisation of the depot would be a boost to fuel supply and distribution in the zone.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, AMFSON Chairman, Chief Wada Ashiga, observed that the emergence of the NNPC Retail Limited in the down stream sector has addressed the problems of fuel scarcity and product adulteration in the country.

He stated that the association now enjoys constant supply of petroleum products, adding that the problem of improper record-keeping in the business has been taken care of by personnel of NNPC Retail Limited.

Ashiga who was in company with other executive members of the association during the news conference, added that his administration had been monitoring the activities of filling station owners, stressing that anyone caught engaging in under-hand deals would be severely sanctioned.

The AMFSON chairman explained that the association was formed to serve Nigerians, as well as protect the rights and business interests of its members, adding that the group intends to partner with related organisations to deepen economic activities and sustain the current stability in the downstream sector.
