National Housing Fund: Dead or Alive?

When the National Housing Fund Act 3, 1992 was promulgated in the country, a new hope was created in the minds of millions of Nigerians, especially those who could not afford a shelter over their heads, that very soon they would own their own houses through the fund.
Incidentally, the decree establishing this Fund coincided with the period when the global slogan of “Housing for all by the year 2000” was very popular and gave virtually everyone the hope that the Fund was going to make everyone a house owner, a situation that later turned out to be a mirage
