HE WHO LAUGHS LAST... Siasia after the game.
Ex-international, Tijani Babangida was among the legion of Nigerians who assessed the first match of former colleague Samson Siasia as Super Eagles coach and has come out with a verdict that the game belongs to the new generation of stars.
The Eagles scored twice in the game played in Lagos before the Leone Stars pulled one back but the ever critical Lagos fans jeered and booed the Nigerian team ceaselessly
Babangida, however, said that the jeering was part of the game but advised Siasia not to place his hope of a good team on “old Lions”.
“It’s a fair outing. It’s their first outing and they did well. But it was obvious that the game belongs to the new generation of players and not the old lions who have been there for long. I doff my hat for the team but Siasia should be drop the old lions to allow the new generation of players come into it fully. The future belongs to them. And I think the cap fits them”, Babangida emphasised.
