Court okays EFCC’s request
An Abuja High Court has granted a request by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission to drop all criminal charges against Clement Fasawe, a former chairman of the Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The EFFCC had charged Fasawe with alleged N2.3bn fraud.
Justice Salisu Garba dropped the three-count charge of conspiracy, corruption and stealing on Wednesday following a request by lawyer to the EFCC, Mr. Steve Ovialeh, that consequent upon the death of the accused, the charges should be dropped.
