The Northern consensus candidate for the PDP Presidential primaries will emerge after the meeting of the 17-wise men led by Adamu Ciroma on November 21 in Kaduna.
Mallam Adamu Ciroma, the leader, of the Northern Political Leaders’ Forum said within the week that the name of the candidate will be announced after the November 21 meeting which will be the last to be held to deliberate on the issue.
Jonathan says he didn’t smuggle clauses into Electoral Act
President Jonathan has refuted claims that he smuggled favourable clauses into the Electoral Act to give himself victory in the PDP Presidential Primaries and the 2011 general elections. He also pledged to accommodate everybody and every interest if he is elected in next year’s election.
He also promises there will be no crack in the PDP over the issue of the zoning of the Presidency but only a clash of different interests which will be over once a Presidential candidate is announced.
JTF launches aerial raid on militants’ camps
Casualties were recorded late last week when men of Nigerian Armed Forces invaded the camp of militant war lord, Commander Nonukeme in Furopa in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in a move to stamp out a resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta. This followed intelligence report that it was the camp recently shown on the Al-Jazeera news network which suggested that militancy is still prevalent along the creeks.
