Roque Santa Cruz claims Carlos Tevez is keen to return to Argentina, but still expects his Manchester City teammate to fulfil his contract.
Tevez has often spoken of his disillusionment with football and only last month suggested he could retire at any time as he was feeling ‘tired‘.
Santa Cruz, who has expressed his own wish to leave City in order to play regular first-team football, has revealed that Tevez is homesick and is missing his family.
However, the Paraguay striker does not believe that Tevez will seek to return to South America until he has seen out his contract at City.
”Your heart goes out to his family,” Santa Cruz told Cadena Ser. ”He wants to be among his people, who are in Argentina.
”His siblings and his daughters are also there. When you feel that your homeland is calling you back, you could end up giving up everything to return.
”Still, I think that he will see out and fulfil his contract with City before returning home.”
The 26-year-old has established himself as a fans‘ favourite since joining City from local rivals United in 2009 and is under contract until 2014
