President Goodluck Jonathan
Director-General of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation, Dr. Dalhatu Tafida, has said President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice-President Namadi Sambo deserve the support of the North in thier joint bid to pick the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2011 elections.
Speaking during a courtesy call on Governor Jonah Jang in Jos on Monday, Tafida said the political romance between the people of the North and the South-South dated back to the First Republic.
He said the Northern Peoples Congress and the National Party of Nigeria enjoyed tremendous support from the people of the Niger Delta and it would be unfair if they were not paid back by the North.
He said, “For the NPC and NPN to get national acceptability both in the first and second republics, the North had to extend their hands of friendship to the people of the South-South, who gladly accepted them.”
