The Senate has said it has not received any communication from the House of Representatives on the crisis rocking the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Section 11(4) of the 1999 Constitution empowers the National Assembly to take over the responsibilities of any state Assembly in the country should there be reasons of its inability to function as a state legislature.
Hon. Ita Enang through a motion, is seeking the National Assembly’s intervention in the stalemate in the Ogun assembly if the members fail to resume sitting as soon as possible.
The House gave an ultimatum, which expired last week, to the House of Assembly to reconvene or risk ceding its legislative powers to the National Assembly.
