Vision 2020: CMD to train 30,000 Nigerians

The Centre for Management Development is to train 30,000 Nigerians from 2011 to 2013 to help in actualising the Vision 2020 development plan.

The Director-General of the centre, Dr. Kabir Usman, said this on Wednesday in Abuja at a three-day retreat organised for senior staff of CMD.

The theme of the workshop was, “The Effect of Work Life Balance on Employee Productivity.’’

Usman said the centre’s work plan to train 30,000 Nigerians was aimed at supporting the implementation of the Vision 2020 plan.

According to him, the purpose of the retreat is to review the 2010 programmes of the centre and work out a three-year action plan to reposition it.

The News Agency of Nigeria quoted him as saying that the workshop would also help in making Nigeria one of the 20 top economies by 2020.

The CMD boss said the centre had trained more than 9,000 civil servants working with the federal and state governments, including 200 police officers in 2010.

Usman said the centre was planning to train stakeholders in the health and education sectors in 2011, noting that policy makers, lawmakers and decision makers would be trained in line with the Vision 2020.

According to him, the centre will ensure that every staff undergoes relevant training in order to help in achieving its mandate.
