Man in trouble over sudden death of lover in hotel

A middle-aged man, identified simply as Oyesina, is currently in the custody of the Oyo State Police Command over the sudden death of his lover in a hotel.

The woman was said to have died shortly after both of them were checked into the hotel in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they had planned to use as their love hideout on a Wednesday evening.

The woman, identified as Bilikisu Muideen, was said to have started foaming in the mouth shortly after the lovers arrived at the hotel, located in the Yemetu area of the state capital.

While eyewitnesses claimed that the woman fell sick after a sex romp, Oyesina, however, told men of the state command investigating the case that he had not made love to her before the sickness started.

The suspect was said to have attempted to flee the hotel when he discovered that Muideen’s condition was deteriorating. But he was unlucky as some hotel workers apprehended him before handing him over to policemen, who were drafted to the scene from Yemetu Divisional Headquarters.

The woman’s corpse has since been deposited at the mortuary of Adeoyo State Hospital for autopsy.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olatunji Ajimuda, a superintendent of police, confirmed the incident.

Ajimuda said that information available to the police showed that the lovers had not made love before the deceased fell sick.

He added that information at the command’s disposal showed that the woman slumped after leaving the room they had both booked for their sexual escapade.

The PPRO said the case was still under investigation and it would be premature to identify the cause of the woman’s death, noting that only the result of the autopsy could reveal the source of the woman’s sudden death.
