Tough Spurs test for struggling Birmingham

After 15 matches, Birmingham are in 14th place in the table, barely three points above Wigan who are in the relegation zone, while Tottenham are fifth-placed and fighting for a Champions League qualification. Both teams will meet today with Birmingham playing the host.

In their last 12 league games against Spurs, Birmingham have won three and lost six, while drawing the rest. The last encounter between the sides ended in a 1-1 stalemate at St Andrews‘.

Birmingham have lost four of their home games, this season, while winning the other three. Tottenham‘s away record has been mixed, with the Spurs winning three and losing three on the road, with one draw.

Spurs coach Harry Redknap was ecstatic after his team beat Arsenal and Liverpool to improve their chances of a Champions League place, but he is thinking of something bigger and winning the Premier League has suddenly become his wish.

Blackburn Vs Wolves

Blackburn Rovers, which lost 7-1 to Manchester United, last Saturday, are in 13th place in the table, while Wolves continue to remain relegation favourites in nineteenth position,

Blackburn have had a mediocre home record this season, with three wins and two losses in seven matches. Wolves haven‘t set any stands on fire, while on the road, losing six of seven away matches.

Chelsea Vs Everton

Chelsea are in second place, while Everton are in 16th, just two places above the relegation zone.

In their last 20 league games against Everton, Chelsea have win 12 while losing just two, with six games drawn. Interestingly, the last time, these sides met, in February 2010, Everton won 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Chelsea’s home record has been exceptional, this season, with the Stamford Bridge squad winning six, while losing one, of seven games hosted. Everton have just one win to show for seven games, on the road, while losing two and drawing four.

Blackpool Vs Manchester United

Debutants Blackpool are firmly in mid-table at 11th place, while Manchester United have emerged leaders following their thrashing of Blackburn last week.

With Blackpool playing their first year in the Premier League, the sides have never met before in the Premiership, but in the Football League, Manchester United enjoyed a 43-20 advantage over the Bloomfield Road squad, in 80 games between the sides.

Blackpool have won just two of their home matches while losing two and drawing two of six games hosted. Manchester United have drawn six of their seven games on the road while winning just the one. The 4-0 loss to West Ham in the Carling Cup was a big disappointment but they can look back and take the positive from the 7-1 mauling of Blackburn last Saturday.
